Tune by ear: play the note and adjust until the beating stops.
How to tune
- Press Turn on mic and accept your browser’s permission prompt.
- Pick your instrument and tuning. Play one string at a time and let it ring.
- If the needle leans left, the note is flat: tighten the string. If it leans right, it’s sharp: loosen it.
- When the needle sits in the center (±5 cents) the star lights up and the string is marked as in tune.
Tips
- Always tune up to the note: if you overshoot, loosen a little and come back up. The string holds its pitch better.
- Pluck gently and away from other strings: a hard attack pushes the note a few cents sharp at first.
- On bass, hold your phone close to the body of the instrument or the amp: low notes reach the mic with less energy.
- In Voice mode you’ll see which voice types your note falls in and the range you’ve sung today.
